| Technical Data - 146.820 MHz. System System Location: The repeater is located in the penthouse of the 10 story bank building at 33 West 10th Street in Anderson. The street elevation is 881.7 ft. above sea level, the building height is 155.7 feet, the top of the sign is 175.7 feet, and the top of the antenna tower is 215.7 feet. The tip of the antenna is 237 feet above the ground. RF Package: The repeater package is a Kenwood TKR-750 unit rated at 50 watts output (installed 10/2001). It has provisions for an internal repeater control if needed. A heavy duty power supply is included. Duplexer: The duplexer is a WACOM WP-641 Bandpass-Reject unit composed of four six inch diameter cavities. The receiver and transmitter side losses are about 1.5 dB. Feedline: The feedline is 7/8 inch diameter 50 Ohm hardline, 100 feet long, with a loss of about .4 dB. Antenna: The antenna is a DB Products DB-224, an omnidirectional 6 dB gain unit. (Replaced 6/97). A standby antenna is located on the building sign with a tip height of 195 feet. It is a 6 db gain Sinclair SRL-229 (installed 12/2000). This antenna has 35 feet of 7/8 inch hardline. Switching between the antennas can be done remotely. Controller: The controller is a Computer Automation Technologies CAT-1000. This unit provides all of the telephone, on-frequency, autopatch/autodial and other typical control functions. It also includes a digital audio memory to sample and replay received audio. Several macro variations announce the status of activity on the repeater. Coverage: The effective radiated power of the system is 125 watts with a usable range to a typical handheld of 15 miles and a mobile of about 30 miles. Technical Data - 147.090 MHz. System System Location: The repeater is located in the basement of the Emergency Management EOC at Linwood, nearly the geographical center of the County. Latitude 40.139124N, Longitude 85.65508W The elevation is 894 feet above sea level, and the top of the antenna tower is 90 feet above the ground. The top of the antenna is 115 feet. RF Package: The repeater is a Kenwood TKR-750 adjusted for 50 watts output (installed 1/2005). Duplexer: The duplexer is a WACOM WP-641 Bandpsss-Reject unit composed of four six inch diameter tuned cavities. The receiver and transmitter loss is about 1.6 dB. Feedline: The feedline is 150 feet of ½ inch Heliax hardline with a loss of about 1.4 dB. (Replaced in 1998) Antenna: The antenna is a DB Products DB-224, an omnidirectional 6 dB gain unit. (Replaced in 1998) The pattern of this antenna is modified to favor north-south signals. Controller: The controller is the internal controller of the TKR-750 repeater. There are no autopatch functions associated with this repeater. Remote repeater control is thru an internet connection. IRLP capability was added in April, 2003. A weather reporting station has also been added. Coverage: The effective radiated power of the system is 100 watts with a usable range to a handheld of about 12 miles, and 25 mile range to a typical mobile. Note: Both systems are composed of equipment owned by the Anderson Repeater Club, Inc. and Madison County Emergency Management. The tower on the bank building belongs to the building owner. Technical Data - 443.350 MHz. System System Location: The repeater is located at the WGNR broadcast station on the south side of Anderson (53rd. Street and Pendleton Ave.). It has been located at this site since the late 1970’s. RF Package: The repeater is a Kenwood TKR-820 with 20 watts output (installed 1/1996). Duplexer: The duplexer is internally mounted in the desktop cabinet of the repeater. Feedline: The feedline is 400 plus feet of 7/8 inch Heliax hardline with a loss of about 3.5 dB. Antenna: The antenna is a DB Products DB-420, an omnidirectional 9 dB gain unit. It is located on the northwest side of the tower at 375 feet. Controller: The controller is the internal controller for the TKR-820. A separate Median Electronics ID-1 Programmable Morse Code Station Identifier is interfaced to provide the needed repeater identification. Coverage: The effective radiated power of the system is 40 watts with a usable range to a handheld of about 12 miles, and 50 mile range to a typical mobile. Note: This repeater package is owned and maintained by Madison County EMA, and the antenna and feedline is the property of the broadcast station. Moody Broadcasting, and prior to that the previous owners of the station, have been consistent supporters of EMA. |
